The opportunity presented was to design a welcoming and inspiring reception area in The Florence Building, reflecting an Italian theme to honour its name. The design challenge involved creating a flexible and engaging environment, incorporating distinct Italian elements while ensuring practicality and comfort for the users.
Bia Lorenzo was the project designer while at Office Profile / Pinnacle Furniture.
The Approach: Designing an Immersive Italian Experience
To achieve this, the space was designed with diverse seating options to accommodate various uses, promoting flexibility and adaptability. A prominent mural of “The Birth of Venus” was integrated, alongside Vespa-inspired seating, a Piaggio tea point, and a Fiat 500 refrigerator, each contributing to a distinctive Italian ambiance. These carefully selected elements aimed to transport users and create an immersive experience that celebrated Italian culture.
The Result: a Thematic and Engaging Entrance
The final outcome was a beautifully realized lobby that successfully captured the essence of Italian design. The blend of iconic Italian elements with practical seating arrangements resulted in a unique environment.
