Relocating to a new city centre location, this company needed more than just desks; they needed a culture shift. The goal was to transition the team from a traditional, static office into a fully “agile” environment, where staff could choose to work in quiet pods, collaborative breakout zones or social hubs. They also wanted the design to reflect Sheffield’s industrial heritage without feeling old-fashioned.

The Approach
The floorplan was broken down into distinct neighbourhoods. The layout created seamless transitions between high-energy zones (kitchens, breakout benches) and deep-focus zones (acoustic booths, libraries), allowing staff to move intuitively through the day. To ground the modern office in its location, the concept pulled from Sheffield’s steel city roots. Industrial textures (exposed metals and raw concrete effects) were introduced, softened by warm timber joinery to keep the space inviting. Furniture was key here: instead of fixed partitions, modular furniture systems were specified. These can be reconfigured as teams grow or shrink, future-proofing the client’s investment.
The Result
A workspace that feels established yet forward-looking. The move from a legacy facility to this dynamic hub has energized the workforce, proving that a well-planned office is a powerful tool for company culture.
