Techspace, a leading co-working provider, needed a flagship location that did more than just rent desks. They wanted to create a campus feel in East London: a space that could host large-scale events, provide private HQs for growing teams and offer quirky, creative breakout zones that reflect the vibrant neighbourhood. The challenge was to make a massive 20,000 sqft industrial building feel connected, human and exciting.
Bia Lorenzo was the project designer while at Office Profile / Pinnacle Furniture.
The Approach
The ground floor was split into two distinct energies. The West side houses private office suites for focused work, while the East side features a split-level event space capable of hosting 200 people, turning the building into a destination. Long corridors can feel dead in large offices. To fix this, the central corridor was treated like a street, using custom glass manifestations (a mix of frosted and solid vinyls) to create visual rhythm and privacy without blocking light. In the basement, the design moved away from corporate beige entirely. There are 10 unique meeting rooms, each with a distinct theme. This injection of quirk gives members a talking point and reflects the creative spirit of the start-ups who work there.
The Result
A flagship that defined the Techspace brand. By balancing the practical needs of a workspace (quiet booths, open-plan desks) with the social needs of a community (event spaces, themed rooms), we delivered a hub that feels alive. It is a space where companies don’t just work; they grow.
